Isabel Meirelles is Assistant Professor in Graphic Design at Northeastern University, Boston, MA. She holds a B.Arch from Febasp, Brazil; an M.Arch in History and Theory of Architecture from the Architectural Association School of Architecture, London; and an MFA in Visual Communication Design from Dynamic Media Institute, Massachusetts College of Art, Boston. Meirelles’ scholarly work focuses on the theoretical and experimental examination of the fundamentals underlying how information is structured, represented, and communicated in different media. Her research has been disseminated in scholarly design journals such as Visible Language and in conferences such as SIGGRAPH and AIGA Education conferences. Her work has been exhibited in the Third Venice Biennial of Architecture and the Museum of Art of São Paulo. Meirelles’ professional experience includes work as architect and urban designer, chair of museum departments, and art director of publication and interactive design.
