Who Should Submit
Design, communication, media, computer, and technology educators, administrators, and students are encouraged to submit paper abstracts. Performers, artists, musicians, programmers, and designers are also encouraged to submit papers.

What To Submit
Paper abstracts will be considered for a specific session (see descriptions) or for separate presentation. Abstracts should address one of the discourse areas or another relevant aspect of dynamic media.

Selection And Notification

Paper abstracts intended for a specific panel will be blind selected by the session organizer. All other paper abstracts will be juried and selected by a blind, peer-review process. Notification will be sent via e-mail by Friday, February 1, 2008.

  • Abstract Submission Details
  • Maximum 300 word abstract in prose form submitted as a PDF document (no e-mail or Word submissions please). Include any supporting visuals within the PDF. Avoid any reference to your name or institution within the title or body of the abstract.
  • Specify whether your abstract is intended as part of specific panel session or as a separate presentation. If part of a panel session, please identify the session.
  • Please include 
contact information (full name, title, affiliation, and phone numbers) in the body of your e-mail.
  • Please attach an abbreviated bio, 150 words or less, in a PDF document (to be published in the schedule should your paper be accepted).
  • Email subject line should read "Massaging Media 2 Abstract".
  • Abstract Guidelines
  • Include both general and specific keywords common within the discipline.
  • Be brief, summarize. Think bare bones. Abstracts can be no more than 300 words.
  • Focus on your main claims and argument.
  • Place your content within a time frame and location (one studio, three years of projects, etc.).
  • Think of the target reader, in this case design educators.
  • Abstracts are necessarily dry. No need to entertain.
  • Use a clear, “no frills,” direct writing style. Avoid bureaucratic prose and passive constructions.
  • Make sure the topic can be addressed within the time limit offered (15 - 30 minutes).
